Oct 18, 2019 Open the App Store app on your Mac. Click Updates in the App Store toolbar. Use the Update buttons to download and install any updates listed. When the App Store shows no more updates, the installed version of macOS and all of its apps are up to date. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Help Check for Updates. Follow the prompts to install the latest version. If Check for Updates isn't an option in the Help menu, you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store.

You can always download iTunes 12.8 for previous versions of macOS, as well as the application for Windows.
