How do I receive my copy of the LightScribe Toolbox Premium?

Straight after ordering as a Secure Digital Download. This means you don’t have to wait for it to arrive in the post and can have your first LightScribe disc, labeled, and in your hand within 45 minutes of placing your order.

Can I order the LightScribe Toolbox on the disc?

Previously I offered a CD version for $39.95. However now I suggest that once downloaded, you either burn it onto disc yourself or put it on a USB drive (always good to have a back-up anyway). This way you save money and still get instant access 🙂

Do I get ongoing support?

Absolutely. In addition to the Video Training that comes with the LightScribe Toolbox Premium, you get access to me via my personal email address.

How to Install System Software on:
El Capitan OS X 10.11 and Sierra OS X 10.12

Unfortunately, El Capitan os x 10.11 for Mac is like Win10 for Windows – Neither are LightScribe friendly.

It’s the fact that the problem stems from the fact that HP stopped developing the software back in March 2013 – nearly 3 years now long before El Capitan was released! They (the wise guys at Mac HQ) have done something different this time, as Yosemite OS X 10.10 was fine…

However, folks much smarter than I am have found the cause of the problem and have sent me the solution…

However please understand I am not a Mac expert so I offer this to you to try but can’t offer any direct support on its implementation…

The Problem With El Capitan OS X 10.11 and Sierra OS X 10.12

The cause is the SIP (system integrity protection) enabled.

The Solution…
.

To disable follow these steps:

Samsung Data Migration software is designed to help users quickly, easily, and safely migrate all of their data – including their current operating system, application software, and user data – from their existing storage device (e.g. HDD) to their new Samsung SSD. Oct 13, 2017  I know that Disk Utility will create the recovery partition as well as copying your data to the new SSD. I do not know if the Samsung software will. I vote for Disk Utility. Be aware that some users on these forums have experienced difficulties with Samsung SSDs. On Samsung's web site there is no mention of Mac compatibility. About Samsung Data Migration Software. Samsung provides users a tool specially for migrating OS and data from existing storage device to SSD called Samsung Data Migration (SDM), which can migrate your data in three steps. This Samsung Data Migration software is acclaimed by users at the first time. Dec 22, 2015  Samsung Data Migration 3.0. Samsung's Data Migration 3.0 is an extremely simple tool for transferring over all existing files and programs from a current HDD or SSD to a new Samsung drive. The process took us only about 20 seconds to set up. First, the SDM software scans the system for connected drives, and will show only the important.

1. Boot to Recovery OS by restarting your machine and holding down the Command and R keys at startup.

2. Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.

3. Enter the following command: csrutil disable

4. Reboot your computer.

5. Download newest Lightscribe Host software; expand the .tar file on the desktop

6. Install Pacifist 3.5.7 version and install the lightscribe.pkg file with Pacifist.

7. Then you can, with the terminal command “csrutil enable”, as action describe above, enable the SIP again.

Et voilà, the LACIE lightscribe software and Disc Cover 3, come back to recognize the Lightscribe drive.

I hope this works for you as it has for many other long-suffering El Capitan and Sierra users…
