My.MSG emails have a lot of pictures and text together. This program show all the images in a separate area called 'Attachments'. It doesn't show the text and images together. So it's impossible to figure out what they are talking about. (I have 10 images in the attachment area, but not in the message). List Preview. The number of lines of the message to show in the message list. Move discarded messages into. Choose whether to delete a message or move it to the Archive mailbox when you swipe left on a message in the message list. This setting also determines whether you can delete or archive messages from Mail notifications. Apple's OS X Mail app has long offered users the ability to preview email attachments directly in the message. While useful in many cases, some users find the previews distracting and prefer to have attachments displayed as icons. Unfortunately, an old Terminal command to do this no longer works in OS X Mavericks, but we'll show you an app that can help.

Problems with Excel or Word or PDF Office 2010 files to open or does not want to open in Outlook 2010, check the 'run as Administrator' function.
Mare sure it runs in Normal mode and NOT Administrator. Go separately to Excel and Word and PDF as needed as disable it.
The run as administrator function was inexplicably enabled, probably through an update on our computers, and the errors were solved immediately after changing the mode. (I did a system restart too before testing.)(It took me 3 days to get behind this problem)

Mail User Guide

There are various ways to work with attachments in email messages you receive.

View email attachments

Look for the Attachment icon next to the sender’s name in the message list.

  2. In the message, do one of the following:

    • Open an attachment in an app: Double-click the attachment.

    • Preview an attachment without opening it: Select the attachment, then press the Space bar, or force click the attachment.

Mac

Delete email attachments

  1. In the Mail app on your Mac, select a message that includes one or more attachments.

  2. Choose Message > Remove Attachments.

The message remains in the mailbox and is annotated to indicate that all attachments were manually removed. For IMAP accounts, attachments are also deleted from the mail server and can’t be retrieved.

When you delete a message that includes an attachment, the attachment is deleted too. To change this setting, choose Mail > Preferences, click General, click the “Remove unedited downloads” pop-up menu, then choose an option. Mail doesn’t delete attachments that you have saved.

Mail automatically downloads attachments you receive based on the download option you set in Account Information preferences in Mail.

If you send or forward images or PDF documents you receive to other people, you can mark up the attachments with comments, drawings, or a signature before you send them.
